Demographics
Faulkner County has added roughly 20,000 residents since 2010, driven largely by spillover growth from the Little Rock metro. That demographic shift has not disrupted its consistent pattern of lopsided Republican margins at the presidential level.
The unraveling was not abrupt. The Democratic margin in Faulkner County peaked at seventy-one points in 1932; it narrowed steadily over the late twentieth century. The 2000 election delivered the county to the Republican party for the first time in many years, by a margin of fourteen points. By 2024, the margin had settled into deep Republican territory.
The economic and demographic context is severe. The median household income of $67,289 is among the lowest at this geographic scale; 15% of residents live below the federal poverty line. The county's voting pattern over the last decade is most similar to that of Saline County and Lonoke County.
