A note on source data

Most figures on Akashic are facts (election returns, census counts) drawn from cited public sources — see methodology. Facts are not copyrightable, but if a specific dataset has a takedown claim against it, we will address the claim and, where appropriate, point to the originating source rather than redistribute the contested material.

Filing a takedown notice

Send a written notice to dmca@akashic.app including:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
• The specific URL(s) on Akashic where the material appears.
• Your contact information (name, address, email, phone).
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the rights holder.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@akashic.app including:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the removed material and the URL where it appeared before removal.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
• Your name, address, and phone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the US, any district where Akashic may be found).

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that are the subject of repeated, valid infringement notices may be terminated.
