Home to Biloxi's casino corridor and Keesler Air Force Base, Harrison County blends tourism and defense employment into one of Mississippi's most populous and economically active coastal communities, voting Republican by roughly 29 points in 2024.

The shift began with civil rights. 1964 marked the realignment in Harrison County, by a fifty points margin. The Republican margin reached its widest at seventy points in 1972. The 2024 margin was twenty-nine points.
