Crittenden County, anchored by West Memphis, is one of the few Arkansas counties to return Democratic presidential margins, a pattern rooted in its majority-Black population and historic Delta economy along the Mississippi.
Across the recorded series it reached a Democratic high of 97.7 points in 1936 and a Republican high of 42.1 points in 1972. Between 2020 and 2024 the county moved 4.9 points toward the Republican candidate; the 2024 margin was 2.3 points.
A population of 47,266, a 39% non-Hispanic-white share, and a median household income of $55,358 describe the county. The county's voting pattern over the last decade is most similar to that of Jefferson County and Randolph County.
