Anchored in the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains, NC-11 is one of the most reliably Republican districts in the Southeast, returning margins above 20 points in recent presidential cycles as rural Appalachian communities dominate the electorate.
Across the recorded series it reached a Republican high of 16.0 points in 2016. Between 2020 and 2024 the district moved 2.5 points toward the Democratic candidate; the 2024 margin was 9.5 points.
A population of 745,672, a 84% non-Hispanic-white share, and a median household income of $65,288 describe the district. The district's voting pattern over the last decade is most similar to that of Congressional District 10 and Congressional District 7.
