Covering parts of Osceola and Polk counties south of Orlando, FL-9 has a large Puerto Rican population that has trended Republican in recent cycles, helping push the 2024 presidential margin to R+4.3 after near-even results a decade ago.
The 2008 election was the turning point, when the Democratic candidate carried the district by eighteen points. The 2024 margin was five points, in line with the district's new direction.
