TX-9 covers a heavily urbanized swath of southwest Houston and inner suburbs where Black and Hispanic residents together form a large majority, producing some of the most lopsided Democratic margins in the state.
The Democratic margin in Texas 9th Congressional District has rarely exceeded seventy-six points in modern history; the Republican margin has rarely exceeded twenty-six points. 2024 delivered the district to the Democratic candidate by four points.
