Butte-Silver Bow is a rare blue enclave in rural Montana, its consolidated city-county government and strong union roots producing Democratic margins that have outlasted the party's broader collapse across the state's working-class interior.

Across the recorded series it reached a Democratic high of 77.2 points in 1896 and a Republican high of 20.2 points in 1920. Between 2020 and 2024 the metro moved 7.2 points toward the Republican candidate; the 2024 margin was 7.0 points.
