Louisiana 18th State House District in the Gulf South has, until recently, been a Democratic district. The district's earlier pattern was unmistakable — multiple decades of consistent margins for the other party.
The 2004 election was the turning point, when the Republican candidate carried the district by two points. The 2024 margin was twenty points, in line with the district's new direction.
