West Virginia 76th State House District in southern Appalachia has, until recently, been a Democratic district. The district's earlier pattern was unmistakable — multiple decades of consistent margins for the other party.
The 2012 election was the turning point, when the Republican candidate carried the district by fourteen points. The 2024 margin was thirty-one points, in line with the district's new direction.
