Delegate District 32 recorded a 56-point Republican presidential margin in 2024, placing it among the state's most one-sided districts. With roughly 18,000 residents, its small population reflects the rural, sparsely settled character of much of interior West Virginia.
The unraveling was not abrupt. The Democratic margin in West Virginia 32nd State House District peaked at fifty-five points in 1964; it narrowed steadily over the late twentieth century. The 2012 election delivered the district to the Republican party for the first time in many years, by a margin of thirty-one points. By 2024, the margin had widened further.
