Which Places Shifted Most in 2020?

Starr County, TX swung 55.2 points toward Republicans—the biggest county shift in the nation.

The 2020 election saw continued suburban realignment toward Democrats, particularly in college-educated areas. Trump's gains among Hispanic voters in Florida and Texas previewed the larger shifts that would come in 2024.

Between 2016 and 2020, suburban areas shifted toward Democrats. Biden made significant gains in educated suburbs across swing states while Trump consolidated support in rural areas and made inroads with Hispanic voters in South Florida and the Rio Grande Valley.
