Pritzker is a billionaire who has personally spent over $300M on Illinois politics and won reelection by 13 points in 2022 against Darren Bailey — who is somehow running again. The state went for Biden by 17 and Harris by 11. Pritzker’s national profile as a Trump antagonist and major Democratic donor only strengthens his position in a midterm. Bailey was one of the weakest gubernatorial nominees in modern Illinois history the first time; there’s no reason to think the sequel will be any different.
